These sketches are a sneak peak at the new woodcut I’m working on right now as the last print in my Summer Flora series. Last summer, I collaborated on a woodblock print series with local flower farm and design studio Northerly Flora. I created 4 different multi-layered woodblock prints inspired by their summer bounty. There are four flowers featured in the series, each flower represents a month during harvest season when it is in fullest bloom. The print you see here features Northerly Flora’s bounty for May: Tulip.
This print is a 4 color, one block, reduction woodcut print. It is an original limited edition print; hand-carved from a wood block and printed by hand using a Vandercook Press and rubber based inks. The image is printed on high-quality, archival printmaking paper.
